Graduation Requirements
Classes of 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018
The AHS Classes of 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 must meet all of the following requirements
Students must earn 120 credits including the following:
20 credits in English;
15 credits in mathematics (Algebra I, Geometry, one additional course);
15 credits in science (2 Lab or inquiry-based Sciences-Lab or inquiry-based Biology and
Chemistry);
15 credits in social studies including 10 credits in United States History and five credits in World
History;
5 credits in visual and performing arts;
5 credits in career education and consumer, family, and life skills, or vocational-technical
education;
5 credits in world languages;
2.5 credits in Economics
In addition, students must pass physical education and health each year.
Students must pass all sections of the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA) or the
PARCC (when it becomes the test of record).
Students must meet all requirements related to attendance.
All courses at Audubon High School are designed to address skills delineated in the New Jersey
Core Curriculum Content Standards and the Common Core State Standards, either through direct
instruction or through infusion. Students who follow the educational program prescribed by their
counselors will be prepared to meet success on state-mandated assessments.
It should be noted that the State of New Jersey is in the process of redesigning state
graduation requirements. With this in mind, students entering grades seven and eight may
be expected to take additional credits in specific areas of the curriculum. We will keep
students and parents informed of changes as they occur.
